Announcing Juice Joint Productions and Help Me Out TV | November 9th, 2009By Clint GriessJuice Joint Productions is developing a reality television series titled "Help Me Out" about gays and lesbians coming out of the closet with the help of Queer Eye’s life coach Clint Griess. Each week, we watch as Clint guides and coaches people to come out in an empowering way. We see how each subject is living and the strategies they use to hide. Clint’s creative and compelling exercises and conversations help them choose how and when to come out. Then, he supports them along their personal journey that culminates with them revealing their true selves to family and friends. The aim is to humanize the subject of being gay and to inspire audiences through weekly real-life victories over fear and prejudice. Through their participation on the show, the people we profile will make the choice to come out and they will be empowered in the process. Coming out of the closet has its implicit drama, and yet the coach and the coaching process are essential to the show’s format. Having a recognizable host who is likable and easily accessible allows audiences to have a comfort with the subject that might otherwise seem too raw. Equally important is the portrayal of the practical benefits of coaching in the preparation leading up to the actual coming out convsersations. Audiences will learn useful tools to deal with life’s challenges, and they will feel like they can participate in the process of people coming out of the closet. Our production team will treat the people we profile and their loved ones with the utmost care, dignity and respect, and we will provide an ancillary support system of counselors and therapists throughout the process, as needed. |
