There's Life After Death - Happy NEW Year! | December 7th, 2009

By Clint Griess

Here's wishing you a blow out New Year's Eve! Believe it or not, there is life after December 31. But, will your New Year really be new? If you're looking for a truly fresh start in 2010, it's best if you put 2009 away first. After all, it is the past now. When you've completed the past, it leaves the future open for the truly "new" to arise.

Create Completion First

Saying goodbye to 2009 with honor is the best place to start if you want to ensure a fresh start in 2010. True change comes when you're willing to let go of the past, the good and the bad. Otherwise, your 2010 will simply be another version of 2009.

Here are the four questions you want to ask yourself for the ultimate "Auld Lang Sign":

1. What did I accomplish in 2009 that I intended to accomplish?

2. What did I accomplish in 2009 over and above what I intended to accomplish?

3. What did I not accomplish in 2009 that I intended to accomplish?

4. What do I want to be personally acknowledged for and by whom?

Can you really believe that 2010 will be remarkably different than 2009 just because the calendar changed over on January 1? There's no need to ever again be wondering why nothing ever seems to change. The unimaginable becomes available to you when you fully acknowledge the past and create a truly new future.

Take a half-hour this first week of January and create your future powerfully by writing down the answers to the above questions and then sharing them with someone you love. Only when you're finished with this simple exercise and there's nothing more to say about 2009, then ask yourself "What's next?"
